Dairy products in the country have seen a hike of over Rs 1.5 lakh per kg to Rs 8,500 in the past 24 hours, which is about four times the hike from the previous day.
This comes after a surge in dairy prices of Rs 1 lakh per kilo.
This price hike is the result of a sharp hike in prices of all dairy products in recent days, especially the milk, which has also increased.
The increase is due to a sharp rise in the cost of milk, according to Dairy Board officials.
It is expected that the prices of the milk will also go up after this hike.
The Board has also raised the price of fresh milk in the market to Rs 2,800 from Rs 1 at present.
The dairy price hike will be on top of a steep rise in other dairy products.
The prices of sugar and butter have gone up by more than 50% in the last 24 hours.
The Board is looking into the possibility of raising the price limit of all milk and butter products to Rs 3,500 per kg, which will allow for more product to be sold at a higher price.
The price increase will be brought in at the same time that prices of butter and sugar will go up by 50% for a total increase of about Rs 7,000 per kg.
The Dairy Board also announced that it is planning to increase the quantity of milk in its supply chain to 100% by the end of March.
It said the plan will help to boost the supply chain by increasing the supply of milk and cheese and milk and milk products in its distribution channels.
